Material in strandline .5m X 1m area

2 strandline’s, one by the lake wall marking high water mark, the other is reflecting current water fluctuations and remains unusually thick .05 meters for this beach. Predominately composed of natural material, largely drift wood with degraded plastics averaging 10cm in length. 1/3 of the pollutant material is fresh from careless beach goers; majority is being washed ashore by the lake. The debris is likely the lingering effects of the flooding one month ago. The debris may have been fluvial in origin and once deposited in the lake chopped to finer pieces by boating activities.

Removing the pollutants from the lake quickly after a large flooding event is essential, removing fine material is time intensive and large quantities are deposited on the lake bottom.

Good and proud Samaritans barbequing on the beach thanked us for our trash removal efforts, and cleaned up their own as well as existing trash around their area!

5 year girl barefoot in the water, unfortunately broken bottles a few feet away.
