March 8 2015 shore line clean up left bank of La Baye de Montreux 14h00 - 15h00

Lake: calm, normal shoreline exposure on left side of river mouth. 

Weather:  clear & unseasonably warm 14° C.

We did not collect on Saturday March 8th, instead we participated in the annual clean up at Les Grangettes nature reserve http://www.pronatura-grangettes.ch As a consequence of us not cleaning the beach Saturday or because of the fine weather all week we collected 40 liters of litter on Sunday. The majority of material appeared to be picnickers leaving their  trash behind. 

 Notable material collected: remains of a radio, cell phone, purse with 30 centimes d'euros, Mc Donald's trash, plastic bottles and bags and al. cans.

 









On the right side of La Baye de Montreux there are 3 rubbish cans, on the left side there are none. Maybe if there was a trash can on the left as well, people would stop stuffing their trash in the storm drain outlet!?





 

*In the morning Roger ran in a half marathon in Neuchâtel and was back to do the afternoon beach cleanup! http://www.semiducep.ch
